Snow with Barn

Watercolor from Imagination. 8 x 8. Winter of 2010, when Virginia Beach got lots of rare snow. $125

Norfolk

Watercolor, from Memory. Book mark size. A doodle actually. Free.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Little Creek

Watercolor, plein air. 5 x 7 in. After a long trip, I walked the bay with my dog. I sat leaning against a rock at the fence, happy I to be painting again. You get sand in your paints and on your painting, but nevermind. Just wait till it's dry and brush it off. When I took the painting to Skipjack for my show in November 2010, the owners recognized the spot and said their friend lives right there. Always wondered who lives in those houses right on the water. $225

Dunes from Memory on Treated Paper

Gouache from Memory, and in the Doodle category. 9 x 12 in. I had paper left over from a Carole Barnes class which was gessoed. It made the watercolor, and gouache bleed, no crisp edges possible. Love the impact of the colors. $150

Back Yard in the Great Northwest, Version 2

Watercolor, plein air. 6 x 10 in. Painted with my normal palette. $140

Back Yard in the Great Northwest

Watercolor, plein air. 5 x 7 in. Painted on a visit to Seattle. I used 3 or 4 pigments. It was a challenge to try to find colors I am used to without a full palette. Yet I liked the result. $125

Dried Roses
